About the event

Join us for an illuminating program led by renowned historian and author David Settje, Ph.D., exploring the unique challenges queer writers have faced in getting their work published and accepted. Through historical insight and lived experience, the talk will examine barriers such as censorship, pseudonyms, and cultural bias—and the resilience behind groundbreaking literature. This engaging conversation will examine Fagan’s novel in this context, and invites audiences to better understand how queer voices such as hers have shaped, and continue to shape, the literary landscape.
