About the event
EQDG is pleased to welcome regional representatives from Point Foundation to talk to youth and parents about its scholarship program for LGBTQ youth and allies. Point Foundation supports the educational aspirations of LGBTQ+ and ally students to become impactful leaders in their lives, careers, and communities.
Point seeks to build community and springboard a new generation of LGBTQ+ and ally leaders toward success through scholarship financing, leadership and career development, and community support.
Since 2001, Point has invested $60 million in the education and support of Point Scholars nationwide. These students are studying everything from the STEM fields to nursing, medicine, psychology, and more. Point's scholar selection process is rigorous and competitive. Top candidates demonstrate leadership ability, academic excellence, financial need, and a history of community service. Point is currently supporting 1,000 Point Scholars during the 2025-2026 academic year, including 48 students pursuing postsecondary education in Illinois.
